for schools
Kids are brilliant at finding faces. These free resources turn that into a lesson in looking, drawing and writing, and I can come to your classroom to do it with them.

In 2021, Year 1 teacher Louise Luckie named her class at Parkside Primary School in East London after me.
Her school names each class after an artist who inspires them, and for six weeks her students studied my characters, sketched the faces hiding in photos of everyday objects, painted with watercolors and built characters of their own for the class display board.
“At my school we name our class each year after an artist that has inspired us. I have chosen to name my Year 1 Class Larsen Class – after you.”
Louise Luckie, Year 1 teacher at Parkside Primary School

invite me to your class
Visits run online or in person and are shaped around your class and your timetable.
- I show how a photo becomes a character, from the first snapshot to the finished poem.
- The class hunts for a face together, and I draw it live.
- Every child makes a character of their own to take away.
